Vision & Mission Statements
In 2010, the congregation adopted as its mission statement the simple phrase that appears on either side of the sanctuary's main doors as you enter and exit:
"Enter to worship, depart to serve."
In 2010, St. Peter's congregation voted to reimbrace some of the original language used in our church's vision statement, including the first clause of the first sentence, which provides a framework important to our earliest founders and still important to us today. In it's entirety, the vision statement reads as follows:
"The purpose of St. Peter's congregation shall be: to develop the Kingdom of God by all available means, working to advance the mission of Jesus Christ. To this end, we will support and nurture Christian community, engage in faithful Christian education, worship and stewardship, cultivate Christian fellowship and lives and, in all things, seek to embrace the world in the ways Christ did."
